Welcome to the Glendive Alliance website. We are glad that you are checking us out. If you have never been to Glendive it is a beautiful community that is bordered by the Yellowstone river on the West and the Makoshika badlands on the east. The Glendive Alliance church has been an integral part of the Glendive community for just over fifty years. From the very beginning when the church met above the old VFW hall till today, one of the overriding passions has been to see lives transformed from the inside out. Under the leadership of Pastor Melvin Stombaugh, the first church building went up on the corner of Clay Street and Merrill Avenue. This facility served the congregation well until the late 1990's, at which time it became apparent that a new church would have to be built. Trusting in God's leading, the congregation built a building that in many ways seemed too big for their current needs. God honored their faith and has continued to bring new people through the doors each Sunday.
Our church is part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination (www.cmalliance.org). The Christian and Missionary Alliance is a denomination that is committed to sharing the gospel not only at home but all over the world.

When you visit our church you will find a relaxed atmosphere where we are more concerned about you than the style of clothes that you wear.
We offer two Sunday morning services; the first at 8:30 and the second at 11:00. Both of these services last about an hour and a half. At these services you will find worship and preaching that are relevant to the world in which we live. At both services there is a staffed nursery available to care for your children. At the 11:00am service there is children's church for kids from preK to 2nd grade. The children stay with their parents through the worship time and then are dismissed to children's church.
Rest assured that you won't be put on the spot, singled-out, or embarrassed. Though we do receive an offering, we don't want anyone to feel obligated to give. We do like to collect some basic information from people in our guest registry, but if you'd prefer not to, that's all right with us.

Located just north of Interstate 94 at Exit 213, take Highway 16 north towards Sidney, MT. The church is on the corner at the first left hand turn.

Dan Bartl - Senior Pastor
Dan Bartl is from Alabama. At the age of 18 he moved to Geogiia to attend college at Toccoa Falls College in Toccoa, Georgia where he met his wife, Carol. Dan and Carol have been married for 24 years and have been blessed with 5 boys. They ministered in churches in Georgia and Tennessee before moving here to Glendive.
Dan enjoys fishing, golf, football, reading and mostly spending time with his family.

Matt Griffin - Youth Pastor
Matt has lived in many different places in his life. First, as an MK (missionary kid), Matt lived in Argentina for 8 years; but later he moved to Toccoa, Georgia where he spent most of his teen and young adult life. The Lord led Matt to attend Toccoa Falls College, a Christian Bible college in the town where he graduated High School, to major in Cross-Cultural Studies. At TFC Matt met his beautiful wife Jeanette, and they were married in June 2010. He has been working with youth of many different backgrounds since starting college in 2004.
Matt enjoys being active. He loves playing sports, being in God's wonderful creation, taking in college football, hanging out with youth, and especially spending time with his wife.

Joel Bath - Worship Leader
Joel Bath is from Oregon. At age 19 he went to Hawaii and joined YWAM (Youth With A Mission). He spent 4 years of his life involved in missions where he had opportunity to travel to 14 different countries and lead young people in the areas of music and worship. He married his beautiful wife Brooke in June of 2008 and moved to Glendive in the beginning of 2009 where Brooke is from. Currently he is the Associate Pastor of Worship and Community Groups here at the Alliance. He is attending school full time through Liberty University Online and is working for his BS in Religion.
Joel enjoys strong coffee, music, sports and hanging out with his wife and new baby girl Locklyn!

Celinda Melton - Secretary
Celinda was raised in western Montana and attended Prairie Bible College in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada. She married Marshall in 1990 and has enjoyed being at home with their four children, homeschooling them for about nine years. With all of her children attending school in Glendive now, Celinda works part time as a secretary for GAC.
